Fallen door controversy: Passengers shun Dana Valentine Promo

A valentine promo offering cheaper fares for passengers of Dana Airline has suffered some setback as air passengers expected to take advantage of it are not forthcoming.

This is following a recent fall off of one of the airline’s aircraft emergency door which has resulted in debates over the carrier’s safety standards.

The airline had announced a N15,300 one way fare for passenger who book return tickets for the month of February which it tagged  ‘valentine promo’ . One way passengers who book forty hours ahead of their trips are also to pay N19,000 for all its local routes.

Sources at the airline disclosed that the over 30,500 seats on offer in the promo are still far from being exhausted. The promo which , according to the airline, is intended to help its passengers travel more to spend time with families and friends is not enjoying the expected rush.

It has also increased its frequency of flights to some major routes like Port harcourt from Abuja and Lagos to widen chances of passengers traveling to and from the city.

Spokesman for the airline, Kingsley Ezenwa, said the aircraft’s door couldn’t have fallen if it wasn’t tampered with by a passenger. Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has commenced investigation into the incident which awakened fear of possible air mishap.

Dana Air suffered a mishap in 2013 when it crash landed on a street in Lagos which resulted to over 200 deaths and destruction of properties worth billions of Naira.
